Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, Im very glad to make a speech here. Today my topic is "I love you, China."
Since the day I was born, I began to have a proud name—Chinese. Since the day I began to talk, the most beautiful sentence Ive ever learnt has been "I love you, China!"
I love you, China, and Im so proud of being a Chinese. Im proud that Ive got the beautiful yellow skin, black eyes and black hair. Im also proud that I speak the most beautiful language in the world—Chinese.
I love you, China, for I can feel the deep love you give me every day, every minute. Last year, I got an opportunity to visit the United States of America. During my staying there, my fathers boss once invited my family to dinner. While at , he looked at me and asked: "Little boy, how long have you been in America?" "About a month," I answered, "How lucky you are!" he said, "If you were living in China, how could you learn such perfect English?" I smiled and told him proudly that all the students in China are able to learn English at school. I saw his surprised eyes and said to myself, "Im proud of you, China "

Good morning !
my great pleasure to share my dream with you today.I have kept the dream in my mind for so long that whoever in the sun is able to live a happy life for ever. I think this dream is deeply rooted in the future. As we can see, we are now not far away from violence, poverty, diseases, environmental pollution and even wars. Most of people are in need of what they have never enjoyed. However, I still can stick to my innermost dream, as I still can see the bright lights in our future. I believe, there will be a day when those from the rich counties
are really willing to share what they have with those from the poor countries; there will be a day when we are surprised to find that the word poverty has long been out of our memories; there will be a day when we are together to share our dreams and we will all contribute to ma-ki-ng our common dreams come true. I will not just wait but to take action to live in my dream.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
On behalf of my colleagues, I wish to give my warm eongratulations on thc holding of the photo Exhibition "Scenery of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan."
Talking of scenery and landscape, there are many similarities and contrasts between 中國 and Canada. Both have land masses that are among the worlds largest. Both have some of the world s most impressive mountains, rivers and lakes. But each has things that are special to itself. The Chinese are surprised by the fact that Canadian fur traders of the early years were actually able to sail on canoes from the Atlantic to the Pacific through thousands upon thousands of lakes spread out from eastern to western Canada, while Canadians find the mountains drawn by Chinese painters on scrolls utterly surreal. No Chinese visitors would leave Canada contented without seeing theNiagara Falls.
No Canadian visitors to 中國 would feel satisfied just seeing the Great Wall without also touring the Three Gorges, for that matter.
The exhibition of scenery of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan brings us to yet another world. To those who have been to 中國, it will provoke reminiscences and to those who have not been to 中國, it may prove to be an irresistible invitation.
Not wanting to bore you with my pale description, Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like you now to join me in marvelling at these works of art.

How to Be Popular
Most people would like to be popular with others, but not everyone can achieve this goal. What is the secret to popularity? In fact, it is very si-mp-le. The first step is to improve our appearance. We should always make sure that we stay in good shape and dress well. When we are healthy and well-groomed, we will not only look better but also feel better. In addition, we should smile and appear friendly. After all, our facial expression is an important part of our appearance. If we can do this, people will be attracted to our good looks and impressed by our confidence.
Another important step is developing more consideration for others. We should always put others first and place their interests before our own. Its also important to be good listeners; in this way people will feel comfortable enough to confide in us. However, no matter what we do, we must not gossip. Above all, we must remember to be ourselves, not phonies. Only by being sincere and respectful of others can we earn their respect. If we can do all of the above, I am sure popularity will come our way.

My Oscar Dream
On the night of March 1, the 76th Annual Academy Awards was shown on television. After watching it, I had a dream, a sudden wish, that some day, I could receive an Oscar award, or a nomination, for a movie Ive made.
While I was schooling in Australia, my friends from school and I received a n assignment one day, "To make a ten to twenty minute movie on the topic of your choice." At the time, the trend was based around the popular Matrix movie trilogy, so that became our obvious choice.
Because our schedule was very tight, and it was a first time experience, we found it all very hard work, but when we released our production at school, it was worth it. After my friends and I showed the movie, we could not get from one end of the school to the other without getting congratulated about five or six times. We, especially I, were proud. We made a school-wide sensation.
From then on, I became obsessed with how to make movies and how filming is done. I just wanted to know about everyone and everything that has something to do with movies. I would watch a movie four to five times, just to find out how one camera angle, or special effect was produced. I found everything I watched quite amazing. I sometimes admired directors and producers of these films because the techniques they use are so smart. Their cleverness inspired me to make and act in movies.
When I become little bit older, I would like to attend a movie academy in Beijing or Shanghai, then America, or England, after some training and experience, I would like to make a movie, which will most likely be an action movie, which is my favorite kind of movie to watch.. If I am lucky, I hope I would get an Oscar Award for this movie. I think that would be quite a challenge, but it’s not impossible. For now, it’s back to watching movies over and over again for me!

Amatory love has been a mystery for ages.theres neither a criterion to judge nor a common rule to follow.
nobody can tell the eXact reasons why love emerges.it is not always because of beauty (the ugly doorkeeper quasimodo in the hunchback of notre dame is loved by the beautiful gypsy girl esmeralda),nor kindness (hitler also has his mistress),nor wisdom(even the blockhead may sometimes marry a beautiful girl),nor strength love is like getting an electric shock, shaking our soul.
it is a sweet dream, a kind of intoXication, indulgence, and endless passion. true love doesnt need a long time to grow up, to make clear the family tree of the other, neither does it needs the time to look ahead and behind again and again.love is not marriage, which usually starts from love, but doesnt always depend on love to maintain.long-lasting marriage can eventually turn into a kind of family love, a kind of companionship which preserves the companion but loses the passion.love is often an wink of the eye, or a smile that hints mutual understanding.in spite of the great distance between them, people may fall in love incidentally. Hence the saying “a distant marriage is tied up with a mysterious thread”.
love needs passion, and it can stand bumps and stumbles, ups and downs, complaints and blames.when it turns into a pool of water, especially dead water, without any billows or waves, its time for it to die.

Today, my speech is about talents,in my opinion, talents are indispensable in nowadays society. as is known to all that the fight among countries is actually the fight among talents.
First, id like to define the word"talent" in my idea, a talent is one person who is good at or expertised in some or multiple areas. nowadays, as the world developing goes on , if one country want to rank top or do a good job in the world, the country must have many talents.
For example, china, the biggest developing country in the world, in the past 100 years, is always invaded by other countries, why ,the reason is that china at that time had not so many talents. if they had anti-intrusion leader talents in the war, needless to say, they would have beat those big powers.if they had talents in weapons manufacturing, nodody dares to provoke us.however, nowadays, its a totally different situation, china has become powerfulin all over the world, why ?
Because there are many talents serving the country, the civilians become more and more literated.more and more people go to university, more and more people come to receive further education. so what is that in return, talents in army protect our country from invasion, talents in commerce help make our economy keep in improving, talents in aerospace make the world see chinese manned spacecraft flying. talents in sports make china rank the first in the olympic games……
To sum up, talents will play a more and more impoetant role in the world, if one country intends to flourish, he must foster talents as many as they can ,thats all, thank you.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, Today Im going to talk about sandstorm. Sandstorm is a kind of bad weather witch is becoming increasingly common in Northwestern China, and it usually happens in spring and fall. Though Im only 13, I have experienced it and suffered from it quite a lot.
Im sure most people still remember the sandstorm that happened last month. It swept across the large area of 11 provinces and caused a great loss to our nation. As you can see on TV, when a sandstorm comes, the wind blows strongly with dust and sand. Sometimes trees are even broken down in half, and little birds cannot find their homes. Sometimes clouds of dust blur the vision, and little kids cannot find their ways. Its like the end of the world.
When a sandstorm occurs, our classroom is filled with dust and sand. My poor teachers! Theyve breathed in enough chalk-powder. Now, they have to take in much dust.
My poor fellow classmates! They told me they were almost dying. We love beautiful spring. We cherish bright sunshine. But sandstorms destroy all the lovely things. Yet we know it is Mother Natures revenge on what we have done to her. In order to see blue sky and sunny spring again, we should plant more trees and more grass to protect the environment. And it is not too late if we start right now. Though its a hard job to fight against the sandstorm, it is the battle we must fight, and it is a battle we must win! Thank you!

People are alarmed by the succession of campus fires in recent years. In each of these accidents heavy casualties were reported – houses were burned down students lost their lives and properties were damaged. Faced with such a chilling fact people keep asking “What on earth results in these repeated tragedies?” A brief survey of them reveals that human factors still prove to be the leading causes. For example three of these fires were caused by the students’ use of electric waterheaters. As students often leave the heaters unattended the risks are rather high should the water in the bottle boil dry while no one is around to turn off the power. In other cases fires were also caused by stoves candles cigarette butts etc. Since most of these disasters could have been prevented if proper precautions had been taken students should be better educated on the importance and measures of fire control. The following three reminders are of particular importance for us students: First learn how to use a fireextinguisher. Second doublecheck candles heaters stoves and other electric appliances and make sure there are no open flames before leaving rooms. Lastly do not smoke in the dorm.

The Road to Happiness It is a commonplace among moralists that you cannot get happiness by pursuing it. This is only true if you pursue it unwisely. Gamblers at Monte Carlo are pursuing money, and most of them lose it instead, but there are other ways of pursuing money, which often succeed. So it is with happiness. If you pursue it by means of drink, you are forgetting the hangover. Epicurus pursued it by living only in congenial society and eating only dry bread, supplemented by a little cheese on feast days. His method proved successful in his case, but he was a valetudinarian, and most people would need something more vigorous.
For most people, the pursuit of happiness, unless supplemented in various ways, is too abstract and theoretical to be adequate as a personal rule of life. But I think that whatever personal rule of life you may choose it should not, except in rare and heroic cases, be incompatible with happiness. If you look around at the men and women whom you can call happy, you will see that they all have certain things in common. The most important of these things is an activity which at most gradually builds up something that you are glad to see coming into existence. Women who take an instinctive pleasure in their children can get this kind of satisfaction out of bringing up a family.
Artists and authors and men of science get happiness in this way if their own work seems good to them. But there are many humbler forms of the same kind of pleasure. Many men who spend their working life in the city devote their weekends to voluntary and unremunerated toil in their gardens, and when the spring comes, they experience all the joys of having created beauty. The whole subject of happiness has, in my opinion, been treated too solemnly. It had been thought that man cannot be happy without a theory of life or a religion. Perhaps those who have been rendered unhappy by a bad theory may need a better theory to help them to recover, just as you may need a tonic when you have been ill. But when things are normal a man should be healthy without a tonic and happy without a theory.
It is the simple things that really matter. If a man delights in his wife and children, has success in work, and finds pleasure in the alternation of day and night, spring and autumn, he will be happy whatever his philosophy may be. If, on the other hand, he finds his wife fateful, his children’s noise unendurable, and the office a nightmare; if in the daytime he longs for night, and at night sighs for the light of day, then what he needs is not a new philosophy but a new regimen--a different diet, or more exercise, or what not. Man is an animal, and his happiness depends on his physiology more than he likes to think. This is a humble conclusion, but I cannot make myself disbelieve it. Unhappy businessmen, I am convinced, would increase their happiness more by walking six miles every day than by any conceivable change of philosophy.
