英語(yǔ)作文 篇1

What kind of thoughts cross your mind when i said this word? career. and again, what cross your mind? now why don‘t you relate this two topics together? true enough, you might be thinking " a diligent father working all day and earning a mere income of 100 dollars. he fails to be family orientated." what i would like to express is that no matter how busy you are or how important your job to you is, like as if you‘ll be losing your job the next day, please don‘t forget to spend some time with your family too! always remember "family comes first‘!

英語(yǔ)作文 篇2

Recently, the issue whether to consume is to love our country has been brought into our focus. Some people suppose that to consume can advance Chinese economy. However, others hold an opposite idea. Those who are in favor of the opinion that it is right to consume suggest consumption can contribute a lot to the economy and society, such as offering more jobs to people. Now, China’s economy goes up by 8% on average every year because of the development of consumer culture.Admittedly, those who are against the argument claim that it is a costly hobby to consume, leading to waste of material and money. For example, the weight of the waste material has reached 2 billon tons since 20xx all over the world. Owing to that, our natural environment will become even worse than that nowadays. All in all, it is difficult to say whether to consume is to love our country or not. However I think we had better spend our money on the things which are necessary.

英語(yǔ)作文 篇3

  背景介紹:

A record of 6.99m students are graduating from universities; and employers’ recruiting quota(配額) is 15% less than previous years. These two factors are making this year’s graduate employment situation worse. Reports show that by the end of April, less than 30% of students graduating from universities in Beijing and Shanghai found employment. The bleak(暗淡的) outlook for employment has resulted in many calling 20xx the “toughest job-hunting year”.

  話題:

What are the reasons behind the difficulty in finding employment?

  范例1:

There are still several other aspects relevant to this issue. In a sense, however, it is not why it exists but what we should do that counts a lot. Fortunately, a good sign has showed up that the government department concerned(政府有關(guān)部門(mén)) has stressed the promotion of equality in college graduates’ employment. All kinds of efforts should be called for to build a sensible, healthy atmosphere in which students can enjoy their career to the uttermost. For one thing, people from different quarters of the society are supposed to take the responsibility of helping graduates become socialized and professional. For another, notwithstanding that(盡管) the climate looks gloomy, the employees are expected to broaden their range of knowledge and deepen their faith. After all, “hope is a good thing, and no good thing ever dies.”

  范例2:

Above all, economic recession and incompetence of students result in their failure to secure a job. Also, if graduate students aim lower and learn harder, situation will be better, for what is universally acknowledged--Ability speaks louder than luck.

  范例3:

To sum up, from what has been discussed above, the expansion of college enrollment, high demand of skilled workers and bleak outlook of economy are the reasons causing the ever toughest employment situation. Despite the external negative factors, as a college student, we still need to focus on our study of professional courses so as to be more competitive in the job market, just as an old saying goes, "Study is like sailing against the current; either you keep forging ahead or you keep falling behind".

  范例4:

Although faced with the "toughest job-hunting year", and the situation may become worse in next few years, we must have the strong belief to be an intrepid hunter, for "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself", as Franklin D. Roosevelt once claimed facing the Great Depression, during which thousands were jobless.

英語(yǔ)作文 篇4

standard usage includes those words and expressions understood, used, and accepted by a majority of the speakers of a language in any situation regardless of the level of formality. as such, these words and expressions are well defined and listed in standard dictionaries.

colloquialisms, on the other hand, are familiar words and idioms that are understood by almost all speakers of a language and used in informal speech or writing, but not considered appropriate for more formal situations. almost all idiomatic expressions are colloquial language. slang, however, refers to words and expressions understood by a large number of speakers but not accepted as good, formal usage by the majority.

colloquial expressions and even slang may be found in standard dictionaries but will be so identified. both colloquial usage and slang are more common in speech than in writing.

colloquial speech often passes into standard speech. some slang also passes into standard speech, but other slang expressions enjoy momentary popularity followed by obscurity. in some cases, the majority never accepts certain slang phrases but nevertheless retains them in their collective memories.

every generation seems to require its own set of words to describe familiar objects and events. it has been pointed out by a number of linguists that three cultural conditions are necessary for the creation of a large body of slang expressions. first, the introduction and acceptance of new objects and situations in the society; second, a diverse population with a large number of subgroups; third, association among the subgroups and the majority population.

finally, it is worth noting that the terms "standard" "colloquial" and "slang" exist only as abstract labels for scholars who study language. only a tiny number of the speakers of any language will be aware that they are using colloquial or slang expressions. most speakers of english will, during appropriate situations, select and use all three types of expressions.
