　　People kiss for the simple reason that it feels good. Our lips are full of sensitive nerve endings, which activate sensory areas in the brain. Kissing boosts the levels of neurotransmitter substances such as dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin. Dopamine triggers craving and desire, serotonin elevates a person’s mood, and oxytocin is involved in forming emotional attachments.

　　Besides humans, the only animals that scientists have ever seen kissing are our closest ape relatives, chimpanzees, and bonobos, and even then it is a rare occurrence. So scientist think there must be a better explanation for it.

　　Kiss and Tell

　　Some scientists have theorized that kissing might help us assess a partner’s immune system. When people kiss, they come close enough to sample the scent of each other’s bodies. And that scent may contain clues to immune system compatibility.

　　Parents with complementary immune systems have children with a stronger ability to resist disease. Children that are better at resisting disease are more likely to survive to have their own children. Evolution will favor those who choose partners with compatible immune systems over those who don’t, even if they don’t even know that they are doing it.

　　Exchanging saliva may provide other chemical clues to genetic compatibility too. So, kissing really is all about chemistry!

　　人們接吻的原因很簡單，就是它會(huì)讓你感覺良好。我們的嘴唇布滿了神經(jīng)末梢，這些神經(jīng)末梢連接著大腦相應(yīng)的神經(jīng)區(qū)域。接吻使一些神經(jīng)遞質(zhì)物質(zhì)迅速增加，例如多巴胺，血清素以及催產(chǎn)素。多巴胺觸發(fā)人們的欲望，血清素能使人們情緒激昂，催產(chǎn)素會(huì)對情緒的變化有影響。

　　除了人類，科學(xué)家發(fā)現(xiàn)唯一有接吻行為的動(dòng)物，就是我們的近親，黑猩猩和倭黑猩猩，即使在它們之中這種現(xiàn)象也極少發(fā)生。所以科學(xué)家們認(rèn)為人類要接吻還有更好的理由。

　　有科學(xué)家認(rèn)為接吻可以獲取對方免疫系統(tǒng)的信息。當(dāng)人們接吻時(shí)，相互間足夠近的距離使他們可以感受到對方的氣味，這些氣味中包含著免疫系統(tǒng)兼容性的線索。

　　具有互補(bǔ)性免疫系統(tǒng)父母的孩子更容易抵抗疾病。而這些抵抗疾病更強(qiáng)的孩子也能更好的生存下來并孕育健康的下一代。進(jìn)化過程更加偏向那些具有兼容性免疫系統(tǒng)的伴侶，即使他們也不知道為什么會(huì)在一起。交換唾液或許也提供了基因兼容所需的其它化學(xué)物質(zhì)的一些線索。所以接吻真是一場化學(xué)反應(yīng)。
