雅思寫作5.5的原因

　　1.Every coin has two sides (任何事情都有兩面性)

　　這個(gè)短語(yǔ)我相信是個(gè)土生土長(zhǎng)的中國(guó)學(xué)生都用過吧。雅思寫作又是以議論文為主，所以此短語(yǔ)就更能派上用場(chǎng)了。有的同學(xué)會(huì)問：這個(gè)短語(yǔ)我從初中用到研究生畢業(yè)，有什么錯(cuò)嗎?我考四級(jí)也用它、六級(jí)也用它，考研也用它?為什么現(xiàn)在才告訴我不能用了?

　　這個(gè)諺語(yǔ)在雅思寫作中"was very much overused"。雅思寫作考官一起打分的時(shí)候會(huì)"mock this expression (proverb) and say to our colleagues, 'I've found another one!' and laugh."

　　考官的心情：it was rather annoying, boring and disappointing to read such unoriginal language。

　　We prefer to read something new and interesting rather than read language that has been used many times before.

　　2.Last but not least(最后但并非最不重要的一點(diǎn))

　　大家看到這個(gè)短語(yǔ)很驚訝是嗎?我們的老師不是反復(fù)告訴我們，寫作文要有層次感，要有連接詞。比如：Firstly, secondly, last but not the least!嗎?

　　真實(shí)情況是這樣的："Last but not least"這個(gè)短語(yǔ)通常用在口語(yǔ)中，所以是informal的表達(dá)。而且這個(gè)短語(yǔ)的意思是在介紹三個(gè)人或物時(shí)，說到最后一個(gè)時(shí)這么用。

　　考官是這么舉例的： 比如你在介紹部門成員的時(shí)候，你這么說 "First, this is Mr. Wang. He's our new assistant accountant. Then we have Miss Li, who is a new receptionist , ........and, last but not least, we have Mr. Lin, who is our new website manager."(你把人家放到最后介紹了，但是要說明不是因?yàn)椴恢匾�就放到最后介紹。避免別人不高興。)

　　如果你確實(shí)想不到其他詞或短語(yǔ)了，就直接用"Last" or "Lastly"

　　3."With the development of science and technology, ...".(隨著科技的發(fā)展)

　　考官說：這個(gè)是典型的Chinglish，他問：你們寫作文都這樣開頭嗎?我無言以對(duì)。

　　這么寫不對(duì)嗎?

　　人家原話是這么說的 “ This phrase is not wrong or bad English and there are topics where it is suitable to use. But it just became overused and misused.”

　　考官，舉個(gè)例子好嗎?什么情況下是misused?

　　“Do you think students have too much homework?" and the first sentence the essay was, "With the development of science and technology, ...". Boring.
