How to Solve the Problem of Heavy Traffic
Nowadays, the urban traffic is getting increasingly heavy in China. The roads and streets are packed with cars, bicycles and pedestrians, and traffic jams and accidents have become commonplace.
現(xiàn)如今，中國的城市交通正變得越來越擁擠。道路和大街都塞滿了汽車、自行車和行人，堵車和交通事故已變得很普遍。
The people and government have all realized that effective measures should be taken before things get worse. For example, the govemment should invest more in constructing new roads and repairing and maintenance of old ones, particularly those in busy areas of cities. Besides, more public bus routes and more subways should be opened up so that more people will take the public transportation instead of traveling by private cars or bicycles. At the same time, it is essential that stricter traffic rules and regulations be issued to strengthen traffic control and facilitate the normal and efficient running of all means of transportation.
公眾和政府都意識到，在事情變得更加糟糕之前，應(yīng)該采取有效的措施了。比如，政府應(yīng)該在建設(shè)新的道路和修理并保養(yǎng)舊路上做更多投資，尤其是在城市的繁忙地區(qū)。另外，應(yīng)該開通更多的'公交車線路和地鐵，這樣更多人會用公交出行，而不是使用私家車或自行車。同時，頒布更嚴(yán)格的交通規(guī)則和規(guī)范，以增強交通管制并促使所有交通方式正常和有效的運行，這點很重要。

Drink Driving
Drink driving is a very serious issue in China. In the first half of 2009, China's Drink driving cases jumped by 9%. In Beijing alone, 97 people were killed by drunk drivers by the end of July in 2009. The deadly result has spark repeated crackdowns on drink driving and heated debates on whether offenders deserve harsher punishrnent.
醉酒駕駛在中國是一個非常嚴(yán)重的問題。在2009年前半年，中國的醉酒駕駛案件增加了9%。單在北京，截止到2009年7月底就有97人死于醉酒駕駛的司機(jī)之手。這一致命的結(jié)果激發(fā)了對醉酒駕駛的不斷制裁，引起了對觸犯法規(guī)者是否應(yīng)受到更嚴(yán)厲的懲罰這一問題激烈的爭論。
There are a number of reasons for the increase of drink driving in China. Firstly, China's highly sociable but sometimes excessive drinking habits should be mentioned. People often persuade others to drink more, even if they know their friends may drive when drunk. Secondly, the punishrnent for drink driving is not harsh enough. Many people argue that the cost of drink driving is too low, so drunk drivers do it again and again.
中國醉酒駕駛的增長有很多原因。首先，應(yīng)該提一提，中國人交際廣泛，但有時有過度飲酒的習(xí)慣。人們通常會勸別人多喝點，即使他們知道自己的.朋友喝醉了以后可能會駕車。其次，對醉酒駕駛的懲罰還不夠嚴(yán)厲。許多人認(rèn)為醉酒駕駛的成本太低，所以醉酒司機(jī)一次又一次地這么做。
More severe punishment is defrnitely necessary to curb drink driving. No matter who the driver is, or what the reason is, any drunk driver should be severely punished. But we also need to attach greater importance to education. Anyway, prevention is always the best measure. (176 words)

Should Car's Fad Be Curbed
With the economic growth, improvement of people's standard of living, together with the lowering price of cars, there appears cars' fad in big cities. Although cars, as a symbol of great prosperity, make our life convenient, it is not practical for Chinese to get crazy on private cars.
隨著經(jīng)濟(jì)的增長，人民生活水平的`提高，以及汽車價格的下降，在大城市出現(xiàn)了"購車熱" 。雖然汽車作為一種繁榮的象征，給我們的生活提供方便，但中國人對私家車的狂熱是不實際的。
The serious social problems brought by cars should not be overlooked. The pollution caused by autos is the most important problem at present. The buming of the gas produces a large arnount of poisonous gas, which destroys the ozone layer that protects us from the harmful rays. As a result, urban people tend to gave more odd cities suffer from traffic congestion. The traffic accident is another serious problem caused by cars. Statistics indicate that thousands upon thousands of people are killed or injured every year, and the number is on the rise. Moreover, more cars mean less space. This can only build up the pressure of large population and limited space.
由汽車所帶來的嚴(yán)重社會問題不容忽視。由汽車造成的污染是目前最重要的問題。汽油的燃燒會產(chǎn)生大量的有毒氣體，這些有毒氣體會破壞保護(hù)我們免受有害射線傷害的臭氧層。因此，城市的人們往往使更多的城市遭受塞車之苦。交通事故是由汽車造成的另一個嚴(yán)重問題。統(tǒng)計表明，成千上萬的人每年都在交通事故中死亡或受傷，而且數(shù)量仍在上升。此外，更多的車意味著更少的空間。這只能增加人口和有限空間的壓力。
Considering the above factors, I think private cars' fad should be curbed in big cities now. As a populous country, China should develop clean, convenient and fast public transportations. (189 words)
