--"Do you ever draw picture in the nude?"
--"No, I usually wear a jacket."
"Dear M:
I have been SAVING this question in the hope that I might gain some INTETRST. If free Friday, would you care to DEPOST yourself beside me at a movie? I have taken into ACCOUNT that you maybe previously engaged; if so I will WITHDRAW my offer and hipe Saturday. At any RATE, your company would much enjoy, and I hope you will not ASSESS this as too forward. Check you late.
Sincerely B."
--What weather does mice most dislike?
--When it is raining cats and dogs.
"Cats and dogs"
The things my wife buy at auctions are keeping me baroque.
Six year old Linda returned impressed from her school first day at school. Asked how she got on, she replied:" Every morning, we all have to sit at our desk and when the teacher calls our names, we have to answer prisoner !"
語音雙關(guān)例三:--"Youre not eating your fish," the waitress asked him, "Anything wrong with it?"
--"Long time no sea," the customer replied.
"Long time no sea"魚久不見海,肯定不新鮮。而"Long time no see"是朋友見面時(shí)所用的寒暄語,相當(dāng)于老朋友久別重逢時(shí)說的“好久不見”。
2、It was nice to "meat "you.
3、Yeah, hope to see you again soon so we can "ketchup"(catch up 與 ketchup 音似,意為“ 敘舊”):“我也是。
4、How do you put a baby alien sleep? You rocket.
5、Why did the banana go to the doctor? It wasnt peeling well.
6、What do you call an alligator in a vest? An investigator.
7、I build this with my bear hands.(bare 與 bear 同音,表“赤手空拳”):“這是我赤手空拳建造的”。
8、A bicycle cant stand on its own because it is two-tyred(too tired).:這句話的表面意思是“自行車自己站不起來,因?yàn)樗挥袃蓚(gè)輪胎(two-tyred)”,而“two-tyred”和“too tired”同音,所以也可以理解為“它太累了”。
9、The things my wife buy at auctions are keeping me baroque.(baroque(形式怪樣的)與 broke(破產(chǎn))的相近讀音):這是一位男士利用兩個(gè)詞的相近讀音來表達(dá)對(duì)妻子花錢大手大腳的不滿,意思是“我妻子在拍賣會(huì)上買的東西讓我破產(chǎn)了”或者“讓我變得怪里怪氣了”。
10、Six year old Linda returned impressed from her school first day at school. Asked how she got on, she replied: "Every morning, we all have to sit at our desk and when the teacher calls our names, we have to answer prisoner!
11、"Youre not eating your fish," the waitress asked him, "Anything wrong with it?" - "Long time no sea," the customer replied.(Sea 與 see 同音):“Long time no sea”可以理解為“魚久不見!保馕吨~不新鮮,而“Long time no see”是朋友見面時(shí)常用的寒暄語“好久不見”。
