The Communication Barrier Between Parents and Children
In China, there is an old saying: every family has their issue, the parents and their childrens problems exist all the time. It seems that parents and their children can never get along peacefully, their communication barrier comes to be obvious since the children come to their adolescence, this situation happens in many reasons.
On the one hand, the children have come to the adolescence, they desire to be independent and get away from their parents protection. The age of adolescence means the children have grown up, they are no more the small kids, they want to make their own decision, so they become rebellious and go against what they parents tell them to do. They do this for the purpose of proving that they are grown-ups.
On the other hand, most parents take their children as the small kids all the time. In most parents eyes, their kids will be always kids, no matter how old they are, the parents still treat their children as the small ones, so they will make every decision for their kids. The parents refuse to accept the fact that their children have grown up and can make their decision, so the communication barrier happens.
The communication barrier between children and parents is very familys problem, the parents should learn to let go gradually and the children can have a nice talk to their parents, thus the problem can better solved.

Old People Refuse to Live With Their Children
Today, when the couples get married, they care about whether they need to live with parents. Most couples cant reach agreement when they come to this issue. It seems that old people need to live with their children to seek for better care. But the fact is not, old people generally do not want live with the young people.
On the one hand, old people know exactly the gap between the young generation and their generation. The lifestyle will be very different. They get up early and wake up timely, while the young people like to stay up and they tend to make up sleep on weekends. If they live together, the timetable will be interrupted by each other and both cant live happily.
On the other hand, it is easy to have argument if people stay together for a long time, no matter how nice they are at the beginning. The new couple will have their problem, while if the old people interfere, then things will be miserable. So it is better to stay off the argument.
Now most parents choose to live not far away from their children, because staying the small distance brings benefit to both sides.

Parents Should Help Children to Be Independent
In our country, the only-one child policy has made more and more parents pay so much attention to their children that they would like to replace their children to do everything, including study, work and even marriage. This notion has given to many problems for childrens grow-ups. Therefore, our parents should learn to help their children to be independent.
There are some suggestions given to our parents. For one thing, it is quite important for our parents to realize that their children will grow up and have their own ideas and thoughts as time goes by. Thus, children should be encouraged to make some decisions alone in some matters so that they are able to pursue what they want. And this would also make contribution to solve what we called “generation gap.”
For another, our parents should believe that their children have enough ability to deal with their personal matters and differentiate between good and evil. Hence, parents should give some family chores to their children properly because it is a good chance to train them.
Of course, I am not saying that our parents should not help their children when they are getting into trouble, but I contend that our parents should give their children a free hand in some matters to help them to be independent.
How to Bridge the Generation Gap?
The generation gap is unavoidable in almost every family, which brings about a number of conflicts in a family. In my opinion,to limit the bad effects of the generation gap, each family should use the following three methods:
First of all,it is important that family members discuss openly about their pleasures or sadness in childhood in family gatherings. This activity does not only create a close relationship but also help build up understanding among all members. For instance, once children are aware that their grandparents and even their parents did not have a good upbringing during their hard childhood, they will stop plaining about the previous generations obsoleteness. In the meantime, once old people realize young people are nurtured in a new modern way,it is easy for them to be tolerant of young peoples new habits or hobbies.
Secondly, people of each generation should not develop a very high feeling about themselves. In order to do that, they should not think that they are the only right people in their family because each person has his or her own limitations. Teenagers would realize that their parents have to struggle with pain to support them financially, and they would stop rebelling their strictness. Parents would realize that their childrens new style does no harm to their studies and stop imposing their own unsuitable standards on their children.
Finally, the generation gap and its bad effects can be limited if all members cooperate to build up a close-knit family relationship and a harmonious atmosphere in which they are open and tolerant of each other. I strongly believe that each family,by doing that, can enjoy a cozy atmosphere with minimum interference by the generation gap.
A few years ago it was fashionable to speak of a generation gap. Parents complained that children didnt show them proper respect and obedience, while children complained that their parents didnt understand them at all. Many critics argue that it is built into the fabric of our society.
One cause of the generation gap is the opportunity that young people have to choose their own life. In traditional socieries, children live in the same area as their parents, marry people their parents know and approve of, and often continue the family occupation. In our society, people often move out of the home at an early age, marry or live with people their parents have never met, and choose occupations that are rather different.
In our upwardly mobile society, parents often expect their children to be better than them. However, these ambitions for their children are another cause of the division between them. Often they discover that they have very little in common.
Finally, the speed of change in our society is another cause of it. In a traditional culture, people are valued for their wisdom, but in our society the knowledge of a lifetime may become out of date. The young and the old seem to live in two very different worlds, separated by different skills and abilities.
No doubt, the generation gap will continue to be a feature of our life for some time to come. Its causes are rooted in the freedoms and opportunities of our society, and in the rapid pace at which society changes.

Nowadays,“generation gap”has gradually bee a mon phenomenon all over the world. Experiencing different time,as a result, causes the difference between parents and children in tastes, the method they deal with problems and values.
This case may more easily happen in teenagers. The reason lies in they are young, they have strong passion for freedom, and they like showing themselves off. Then it is no wonder that arguments often arise between their parents and them, which always make the parents worried. They can hardly figure out what their children are thinking about. Because they wear strange clothes, listen noisy music and even walk around town with tattoos and pierces all over their bodies. Nevertheless,in teenager eyes, their parents are out of date and conservative. They may talk with their friends more often than their parents. In a word,‘generation gap is an interminable problem.
Seriously, how to bridge the generation gap? In my opinion, first, show respect. The mutual respect can play an important role in avoiding conflicts. Second, listen more than talk. Its no doubt that it is a very efficient way to keep the conversation longer. At last, keep humors, this can make the talk friendly.
Despite the fact that parents may be worried about the generation gap between their children and themselves. But as we all know, with time going by,children gradually grow old and ripe. And then they will e to understand their parents.

Nowadays, the problem of generation gap bees more and more serious. Based on the survey by our school, the poor relationship between parents and their children is very mon. Are these problems caused by the busy parents? Or,do the harsh family rules affect their relationship?
Firstly,in most of the families in the US,both of the parents have to go out for work in order to earn more money to proveide better environment for their lovely children. Unfortunately, this causes the rare munication between them and their children, since these parents always take rest during leisure time. These parents and children cannot know deeply about each other, then friction is easy to appear. Therefore,a wide generation gap es into being.
Secondly, parents who ask their children to be absolute obedient to them is also one of the grave causes of generation gap between them. Therefore, these children are not willing to municate with their parents and most of these parents are not active to talk with their children. Thus, misunderstanding between them often occurs.
To solve these problems, the busy parents should sacrifice their spare time to municate with their children actively so as to improve their relationship. At the same time, they can also observe their childrens behavior in order to understand their childrens personality and reduce the quarrel betweeen them.
Besides that, the parents should try to give up their absolute power in family to give a better image to their children since it can make their children feel free to chat with their parents. Then it is easy for the parents to approach their lovely children. Therefore,a close and harmonious relationship between parents and children appears.
In conclusion,to have a close relationship between parents and children, the parents should devote their leisure time to talking with their children and observing their childerns personality and give their children the approaching images. If so,this terrible phenomenon, generation gap, cannot occur any more.
Parents say that children do not show them proper respect and obedience, while children complain that their parents do not understand them. This phenomenon is often referred to as the generation gap. What then are the causes of the generation gap?
One important cause of the generation gap is the chance that young people have to choose their way of life. In more traditional societies, when children grow up, they are expected to live in the same area as their parents, to marry people that their parents know and agree to, and to continue the family occupation. In modern society, young people often travel a great distance for their education, move out of the family at an early age, marry or live with people whom their parents have never met, and choose occupations different from those of their parents.
In the easily changing society, parents often expect their children to do better than they did: to find better jobs, to make more money; and to do all the things that they were unable to do. Often, however, the strong desire that parents have for their children are another cause of the disagreement between them. Often, they discover that they have very little in comMon with each other.
Finally, the speed at which changes take place in modern society is another cause of the gap between the generations. In a traditional culture, elderly people are valued for their wisdom, but in modern society, the knowledge of a lifetime may become out of date overnight. The young and the old seem to live in two very different worlds, separated by different skills and abilities.
No doubt, the generation gap will continue to be a future of our life for some time to come. Its causes are rooted in the changes of our society, and in the rapid speed at which society changes.
Generation gap refers to the misunderstanding between the old and young. The term came into fashion after the 1980s. However, in recent years, the phenomenon is getting more and more fierce.
How does generation gap come into being? The first reason is that the two generations have grown up in different ages, thus they have different attitudes toward life. Secondly, due to having little in common with each other, they are unwilling to sit down and talk face to face. Besides, as modern life is so stressful, both of them are so busy with their study or work that they have not enough time to exchange their ideas.
To bridge the generation gap is not easy at all, but we can do something to shorten it. For one thing, children should respect their parents as well as accept their good advice. For another, parents should not only show their love and care to the kids, but also support their good life view. As long as the old and young can understand each other, it would be more harmonious in family and world.

As children approach adulthood, school education has a great effect on the development of them and how to deal with the relationship between teachers and students is quite important.
Generation gap is natural between parents and children and it is also natural between teachers and students. In fact,it can be narrowed through mutual unterstanding and respect.Good teachers are regarded as the students friends and they will deal with the students problems fairly and equally which will deserve students trust.Besides, students rely on teachers and they hope to ask teachers for help when meeting with difficulties, so a good teacher should have a clear idea of what the students are thinking and caring for and should communicate with them more so that there will be a harmonious atmosphere.Last but not least, students and teachers should respect each other and often think about the things on the others stand so that they can seek a best way to solve the problems when there is any disagreement between them. And I think with mutual understanding and experienced guidance of the teachers, the generation gap will also promote the school education positively.
Despite various improvements in all aspects of social life, the gen-eration gap between the grown-up and the young remains unbridged.In-stead,it grows wider apart.
Nowadays, the youths do not blindly follow what their elders say.Owing to widespread education, the influence of Western civilization,to certain extent, gives them a new code of philosophy, which is com-pletely different from that of their elders. An invisible cold wall thus ap-pears between the two generations.
Modern youths are trying to be more revolutionary. They have their own interpretation for different matters;they also have their own ideals.Their reluctance to learn old teachings and saying becomes the constant friction between the two generations. They always introduce new changes. However, the old people, wedded to everything of the past, are hostile to changes and the generation gap becomes wider and wider.
After all,the young generation, like the old one,is made of flesh and blood. The young also need respect and they also have skills and good ideas. In order to narrow the gap, both groups should respect each other, listen to the words of each other and should discuss their prob-lems patiently.
Most probably, these suggestions may help to solve the problem.

Parents, who grew up in a more traditional era, tend to emphasize discipline, respect, and hard work. They may struggle to understand the fast-paced, digital world that their children inhabit.
On the other hand, children, who are exposed to a myriad of information and entertainment through smartphones and the internet, often have a more relaxed attitude towards life. They value individuality, creativity, and the pursuit of happiness. This divergence in perspectives can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts.
However, it is crucial for both generations to communicate openly and respect each others viewpoints. By listening actively and making an effort to understand each other, parents and children can bridge the generation gap and foster a stronger, more supportive relationship.

In modern society, the generation gap between parents and children has become an increasingly prominent issue. It is a phenomenon that affects the relationship between family members and communication within the family.
One of the main reasons for the generation gap is the different growth environments. Parents grew up in a different era with different social values and cultural backgrounds. For example, they may have experienced a time when technology was not as advanced as it is today, and their ways of thinking and living were more traditional. On the other hand, children are growing up in the digital age, exposed to a vast amount of information and new ideas from a very young age. This leads to differences in their perspectives and interests.
Another factor is the lack of effective communication. Parents and children often have different communication styles and frequencies. Parents may be more inclined to use a more authoritative way of communicating, while children may desire more 平等 and understanding. Sometimes, due to busy work and study, they dont have enough time to sit down and have in-depth conversations with each other, which further widens the gap.
The generation gap can cause misunderstandings and conflicts in the family. For instance, parents may not understand their childrens love for modern music or fashion trends, and children may think their parents are too old-fashioned and strict. However, it is important to note that the generation gap is not an insurmountable obstacle.
To bridge the generation gap, both parents and children need to make efforts. Parents should try to understand and respect their childrens choices and interests, and be more open-minded to new things. At the same time, children should also be patient and communicate their thoughts and feelings to their parents in a more appropriate way. By doing so, the relationship between parents and children can be improved, and a more harmonious family atmosphere can be created.
The generation gap between parents and children is a common problem in todays families. It seems that there is always a gap in understanding and communication between the two generations.
One significant cause of the generation gap is the rapid development of society and technology. In recent years, the world has changed dramatically. New technologies such as the Internet and mobile phones have emerged, and social concepts and values are also constantly evolving. Parents may find it difficult to keep up with these changes, while children are more easily influenced by the new trends. For example, children may be very proficient in using social media and digital devices, but parents may not fully understand their importance and usage, which leads to differences in their views on many things.
Moreover, different educational backgrounds and life experiences also contribute to the generation gap. Parents usually have their own set of values and life principles formed through their years of experience. However, children are in the process of growing up and forming their own worldviews. They may have different ideas and pursuits, especially in areas like career choices and lifestyle preferences. This can lead to conflicts and misunderstandings when they interact with their parents.
The generation gap can have a certain impact on family relationships. If not properly handled, it may cause estrangement and a lack of intimacy between parents and children. However, we can take some measures to narrow the gap. Parents can actively learn about new things and try to understand their childrens world. They can also have more 平等 conversations with their children, listening to their opinions and ideas. Children, on the other hand, should respect their parents experiences and advice, and be willing to share their lives with their parents. Through mutual understanding and communication, the generation gap can be gradually reduced, and a better relationship between parents and children can be established. In conclusion, although the generation gap exists, it is possible to overcome it with efforts from both sides, enabling a more harmonious family relationship.

In todays fast-paced world, the generation gap between parents and their children has become a widely discussed topic. This phenomenon is not only limited to China but also exists in many other countries around the globe. The rapid development of technology, changes in social values, and different educational backgrounds contribute significantly to this widening gap.
One of the main reasons for the generation gap is the difference in understanding and accepting new technologies. Young people grow up with smartphones, social media, and the internet as an integral part of their daily lives. In contrast, older generations may find it challenging to keep up with these technological advancements. This can lead to misunderstandings or even conflicts when discussing how much time should be spent on devices or which online activities are appropriate.
Moreover, changing social norms and values also play a crucial role. For instance, topics such as career choices, marriage, and personal freedoms are often viewed differently by the two generations. Parents tend to have more traditional views, while younger individuals might seek greater independence and flexibility in life decisions.
To bridge this gap, open communication and mutual respect are essential. Both sides need to make efforts to understand each other’s perspectives. Parents could try to learn about current trends and technologies, whereas children should listen to their parents experiences and wisdom. By doing so, families can build stronger bonds and create a supportive environment that fosters growth and understanding.

The relationship between parents and their children is one of the most fundamental human connections. However, in modern society, there seems to be an increasing divide known as the "generation gap." This separation manifests itself through differences in opinions, behaviors, and sometimes even language, making effective communication difficult.
A significant factor contributing to this issue is the varying exposure to information and culture. Today’s youth are constantly connected to the global community via the Internet, exposing them to diverse ideas and cultures. On the other hand, their parents were raised in a more localized environment, leading to potentially narrower worldviews. These differing exposures can result in clashes over what is considered acceptable behavior or beliefs.
Another aspect that exacerbates the generation gap is the way each group perceives success. Older generations often value stability and security, preferring traditional paths like getting a steady job, buying a house, and starting a family. Younger people, however, increasingly prioritize passion, self-fulfillment, and work-life balance, sometimes choosing unconventional careers or lifestyles.
Addressing the generation gap requires patience and empathy from both parties. Its important for families to engage in regular conversations where they share their thoughts and feelings openly. Educational programs aimed at teaching both adults and young people about intergenerational dynamics could also help. Ultimately, bridging this gap involves recognizing and appreciating the unique strengths and perspectives that each generation brings to the table, fostering a more harmonious and inclusive society.

In todays rapidly changing world, the generation gap between parents and their children has become a common phenomenon. This divide often stems from differences in values, technology use, and lifestyle choices. While it is natural for each generation to have its unique characteristics, bridging this gap is essential for maintaining healthy family relationships.
One of the primary causes of the generation gap is the rapid advancement of technology. Young people are digital natives, growing up with smartphones, social media, and instant access to information. In contrast, many parents did not grow up with such technologies and may find it challenging to keep pace. To bridge this gap, both sides need to make an effort. Parents can take steps to learn about new technologies, while children should be patient and help guide their parents through the learning process.
Another significant factor contributing to the generation gap is differing life experiences. The world that parents grew up in was very different from today’s, leading to varied perspectives on important issues like education, career, and personal freedom. Open communication is key here. Families should create safe spaces where everyone feels comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. By listening actively and showing empathy, both generations can gain a better understanding of each others viewpoints.
Finally, embracing change and being open-minded are crucial for overcoming the generation gap. As society evolves, so too must our attitudes and behaviors. By fostering mutual respect and appreciation, families can turn potential conflicts into opportunities for growth and learning. Together, we can build stronger, more connected families despite any generational differences.

The generation gap, a term used to describe the difference in opinions, values, and behaviors between older and younger generations, poses a challenge for many families. It can lead to misunderstandings, arguments, and even estrangement if not properly addressed. However, by taking proactive steps, it is possible to narrow this gap and foster closer relationships within the family.
A major source of conflict between parents and children revolves around expectations regarding education and career paths. Parents, drawing from their own experiences, might push their children towards traditional, stable careers, whereas young people today often seek more creative, fulfilling, or non-traditional roles. A constructive approach would be for parents to support their children’s passions and aspirations, even if they differ from what the parents had envisioned. Encouraging open dialogue about career goals and exploring various options together can help align these differing views.
Additionally, cultural and societal shifts play a significant role in widening the generation gap. Changes in social norms, especially concerning gender roles, sexual orientation, and individual freedoms, can sometimes put parents and children at odds. Education and awareness are powerful tools in this context. Both parties should strive to educate themselves about the evolving landscape of society, including reading books, watching documentaries, or attending workshops on relevant topics. This not only broadens one’s perspective but also promotes acceptance and tolerance.
Lastly, finding shared activities or interests can significantly reduce the feeling of distance between generations. Whether it’s cooking a meal together, going for a walk, or participating in a community service project, engaging in joint activities allows for bonding and creates positive memories. These moments of connection remind us of our common humanity and the love that underlies all familial relationships, regardless of age or background.
By working together and valuing each other’s contributions, families can successfully navigate the challenges posed by the generation gap, ultimately strengthening the bonds that tie them together.
