  Dear Jenny,

How are you getting along these days? I hope everything is all right. But I am upset these days because of my parents. I think they take care too much about me and too overvalue my grades. I have to tell them my every exam and my grades. If I do well, they are happy. If I don’t, they would be every sad and nervous, especially my mother. My mother even makes a detailed plan for my future. In her plan, I will go the best senior school of my city and then go to a top university of our country. She wants me to be a civil servant in the future, because this job is steady and well-paid. But I don’t like it; I want to be a journalist. I feel so upset about her plan. I told them my feelings before, but they never listened to me and said what they doing are good for me. What should I do?

I think I need someone to talk to and look forward to your reply.

  Lovely yours,

  Juliet

"Here comes uncles letter!" I shouted happily. But this letter was different from those he sent to me before. It was an email! My uncle went to the United States long ago. But he cared about my study and life very much. So he wrote me often.

But it would take a long time for his letter to arrive. Several years later, my family set up a telephone set, It became easier for us to communicate, but we cost more money by calling each other. Now we both had a computer and could get on the Intemet. Then we could talk to each other any time we wanted to, and it wouldn't cost much. The world is changing, and it is changing better and better.

  Dear David,

I’m glad you’ll come to Beijing to learn Chinese. Chinese is very useful, and many foreigners are learning it now. It’s difficult for you because it’s quite different from English. You have to remember as many Chinese words as possible. It’s also important to do some reading and writing. You can watch TV and listen to the radio to practice your listening. Do your best to talk with people in Chinese. You can learn Chinese not only from books but also from people around you. If you have any questions, please ask me. I’m sure you’ll learn Chinese well.

Hope to see you soon in Beijing

  Yours,

  Dear Sir,

I am writing to you for the mobile phone of Dephone-S250 I bought on 20th Apr.20xx at Tele Mall in Wuhan, P.R. China. Ten days after that, it didn’t ring and send short messages. Then I took it to the seller, but was told that the model had been sold out and I had to wait at least three months for a new one. I had no choice but to go to the repairman. To my disappointment ,he said since it was a new model in China, it was impossible to fix it without the right spare parts. I was so desperate on hearing that for I can not wait that long. Therefore, I have to require that you send me a new one of the same model within a month.

  Thank you for your consideration.

  Sincerely yours,

What is the difference between regular mails and e-mails?As we know, regular mails have been usded for thousands of years,it is very inconvenience, for it took a long time to receive. Besides, it costs you some money. While e-mails is very convenience, it take you only a few seconds to arrive the receiver and it is free to send .so more and more people use e-mails rather than regular mails. Some people think that it will be replace the regular mails.

In my opinion, the email will be more and more popular in the future, but it can not replace the regular mails because it can not send everything though it is very convenience to send letters. But,except letters,we sometimes want to sent other thingsto our friends which e-mails is impossible to send.

So we can draw an conclution that emails can not replace regular mails.People will use email to sent letter and use the regular to send other things.

Dear Sir,

I saw your advertisement for "the perfect lighter" in Sunday Times last week and immediately sent off a £2 postal order and the completed form for the lighter.

Imagine my surprise when all I got in return was a box of matches! I could understand a mistake. I might even pardon a joke. But in this case, your advertisement is a deliberate lie since a friend of mine who also sent the coupon got the same result.

I think it's a shame to promise an economical lighter when in fact you are not selling a lighter a1 all. Instead of saying it works quickly, you should admit that you are offering matches. And what about "only" £2: I usually pay 10 pennies for a box of matches, and they are often given away free.

I regard your advertisement as a serious deception and demand that you send me my money back immediately. Otherwise I will take active steps to make sure the Consumers' Association hear about it.

  Yours faithfully,

  Peter Li

There is a new sort of party being thrown by cool people in California. The idea is that you invite your friends and colleagues over, crack open a bottle of wine, blast out a groovy playlist, then settle down with your laptop to clean up your emails.

The concept of the “inbox zero party” comes from Randi Zuckerberg (sister of Mark) and is possibly the grimmest idea for a social gathering ever invented. Even the Tupperware party starts to look a glittering intellectual salon by comparison.

Ms Zuckerberg says unread emails weigh on her soul. In that case, the answer isn’t a party – it’s to tell her soul to get a grip. There are 2,347 unread messages in my two inboxes and my soul is coping fine. I glance at the emails as they come in, and depending on who they are from and what the subject line says, I open them. Otherwise I tend not to.

Ms Zuckerberg suggests that to get into the party mood all her guests start with a “vent about how you hate drowning in email”. The trouble with this is that venting about email is even more boring than venting about the weather. Absolutely everyone does it – even the people who were responsible for giving us email in the first place. Dave Coplin, a “chief envisioning officer” at Microsoft UK, has just written a book about business being broken, and one of the most broken things is email. We are slaves to it, he moans.

Last week I went to a talk given by a woman on how to do it better. As I listened, I realised that we should all resolve never again to moan about how email drags us under: instead we should remind ourselves of how it allows us to float. Its particular genius is that it allows me to pretend to be super-organised without lifting a finger.

I have no folders, no system of organisation. That is because I don’t need one. The search function is so obliging that everything anyone has ever sent me can be left lying around higgledy-piggledy in the cloud and it will locate it again in a jiffy.

I’ve also learnt how to filter messages, and in the past week have delighted in installing a draconian blocking system. All PRs, all stalkers, almost all group emails and even a couple of colleagues have now been denied access to my inbox. All out-of-office replies and everything from LinkedIn are blocked, so I will never again see messages saying “XX has added a new skill!”. I even block the daily email from the canteen telling me that it’s toad in the hole and spotted dick on the menu tonight.

Between 15 and 50 messages a day now make it past these filters. To these, I reply when I see fit – which might be immediately or might be never. The only messages I try to reply to at once are about things to which the answer is no. These are the emails that drag on my soul, and so in order to inflict minimum damage I’ve learnt how to say, “No thanks” at the double.

I realise there is something unseemly in admitting to not drowning in email. It is tantamount to saying: I’m not very important or very popular. Popular and important people have a bigger problem than I do, so much so that some of them have elected to build email life rafts on which they can remain afloat. Having done so, they are keen to tell us about it.

Tony Hsieh, chief executive of Zappos, has called his raft “Yesterbox”, as every day he makes himself tackle the previous day’s messages. In a recent blog he explains that the beauty of this system is that the task is always finite – and he gets a sense of triumph when he’s done. When I read about his wheeze, I thought it sounded vaguely familiar. And then I realised I, too, used to wait a day before replying. We all did: it was called the postal system.

Fortunately, I’m now one step ahead: now that I’m such a whizz at blocking my email I’ve added a new filter that rejects everything that says “automatic reply”. And then, just to be on the safe side, I’ve also blocked any message that says “Slow is the new Fast”. Because it isn’t.

  一般來說,只要將位于句首的單詞和專有名詞的首字母大寫即可。另外一種較為正規(guī)的格式可將除了少于5個字母的介詞、連接詞或冠詞之外的每一個單詞的首字母大寫, 例如:New E-mail Address Notification;

視信的內(nèi)容是否重要,還可以開頭加上URGENT或者FYI(For Your Information,供參考),如:URGENT:Submit your report today!

  ⅡSalutation & Main Body

  如不知對方姓名只知頭銜,可用 Dear + Title作為稱呼;如只知對方姓名不知性別,可用Dear + 全名; 如郵件為一封通函,則用Dear All作為郵件稱呼;

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me,"這樣的'短語來結(jié)束郵件,這樣一來可以為對方創(chuàng)造進(jìn)一步交流的前提。

Ⅲ Spelling

  2、外國國名盡量用大寫,是為表示尊重;

  3、標(biāo)點要準(zhǔn)確;

Ⅳ Ending

  Respectfully yours, Yours respectfully,

Very truly yours, Yours very truly, Yours truly,

Sincerely yours, Yours sincerely, Sincerely, Cordially yours, Yours cordially, Cordially,

Regards, Warm regards, With kindest regards, With my best regards, My best, Give my best to Mary, Fondly, Thanks, See you next week!

Bill Gates.

  Ⅴ Other Attentions

  A、文法

Deciding to rescind the earlier estimate, our report was updated to include $40,000 for new equipment.

應(yīng)改為:Deciding to rescind our earlier estimate, we have updated our report to include $40,000 for new equipment.

He decided not to audit the last ten contracts. Because of our previous objections about compliance.

The owner questioned the occupant's lease intentions and the fact that the contract had been altered with ink markings.

應(yīng)改為:The owner questioned the occupant's lease intentions and ink alterations of the contract.

An authorized person must show that they have security clearance.

  127 Ninth Avenue, North

  127 E. 15 Street

  5 Park Avenue

  One Wingren Plaza

  556 - 91 Street

。1).Because he was unable to attend the meeting personally, he forwarded his congratulations on cassette tape.

。2).He forwarded his congratulations on cassette tape because he was unable to attend the meeting personally.

例如: but (相反), therefore (結(jié)論), also (增添), for example (闡明).

These decisions have been a big disappointment to the committee members. They have delayed further action. 開頭少用this, that, it, they, 或 which.

He could only reimburse the cost after July 15.

應(yīng)為 He could reimburse the cost only after July 15.

Partial data should be submitted by April.

You should submit partial data by April.

  2、弱軟的詞(e.g. was, were, is, are...)

Prunton products are highly effective in ...

改為: Prunton products excel in ...
